Excellent food and superb staff. Without hesitation I tell friends that this is my favorite restaurant anywhere. The staff always make me feel welcome, and several of the long-time staff drop by our table to greet us or tell us about their newest artistic adventures. If I ever had something like a Cheers bar and restaurant, it would be Athens' Last Resort Grill. I don't know anyone who has had a bad experience or meal there. It's a part of Athens history, from the time it was a music club/bar to a hiatus to its redesign and reopening. I've been a loyal and regular patron for at least 25 years. Don't leave Athens without enjoying it. Suggestion: Get there early to avoid lines.
This place has been here for years...almost iconic and worth it! My friend and I were heading to an Elle King concert and havent eaten here in years since we live closer to Atlanta so we were excited to try it...boy did it not disappoint. From amazing service from our waiter (Scott) to the food which was outstanding. A unique and fresh wine list, not your typical big name grocery store brands. Thank you. I highly recommend this place...not to mention it is in Athens a fun college town.
This was my first time going to this restaurant via an invitation from some associates for brunch. I went on a Sunday and this is a small restaurant that can get rather busy. The food is good. I ordered the Resort Garden Omelette which came with homestyle potatoes and some fruit. It was delicious. The service was very good. The only thing that I encountered negatively is that the ladies room was quite small. However, for getting good food. I would recommend The Last Resort. They also had a variety of cakes in their display case that looked quite tasty.
It’s a must if you’re in Athens! Good vibes, competent servers and a cool aesthetic. Lunch and dinner fare are delicious and feature fun regional flavors. Order dessert! You can’t go wrong with any of Cecilia’s cakes. And the white chocolate cheesecake is to die for.
