Best lunch on the Eastside. I had the Cuban. The meat was fresh and the sandwich was a great size, especially to only be $9. High-quality ingredients and served fresh. They play nice music inside, but it isn't too loud to have a conversation over. They also offer alcoholic options to accompany your meal.
This place is incredible, I'm blown away. Fine dining quality food at a great price, place was packed out and still we had our food in like ten minutes flat. Clean as a whistle (100 health department score), interior is so well put together you'd never know they just opened. Just everything about this experience was excellent.
Salmon BLT pics attached. No filter, unedited.
Six stars out of five.
The food here is absolutely delicious, but the prices are high. The prices are in line with other lunch items at other lunch serving destinations but they don’t include a side here in your price. The dinner menu seems extremely expensive. I will admit, the pork sandwich was to die for, and the sauce was just right, the fries were on point and drink perfect. I’ll be back.
Preacher Green's is one of the newest additions to the Athens food scene, having opened this week. We arrived after 12 to choose from the dinner menu and sample a meat and two sides as per this morning's information on the website. However, it turns out that despite the web information the dinner menu is only available after 5:00. The salmon sandwich and French fries were good, but not necessarily worth $14. The restaurant has done a great job of incorporating both indoor and outdoor seating in a small area. Employees were friendly, but the cleaning was problematic. They wiped each table- then the actual seats of the chairs- with the same cloth for tables and seats. Parking was not an issue at Preacher Green's.
I'm so happy Preacher Green's opened while we were visiting Athens! We had a group, so we were able to try many things on the lunch menu, and they exceeded our expectations in every way. The fried chicken sandwich was amazing - light and crispy and delicious. My wife loved the salmon BLT. The beet and goat cheese salad looked incredible and tasted even better (somehow for under $10). Our daughter really liked the pulled pork sandwich. For sides we tried the green beans, sweet potato chips and french fries and all were excellent. The owners and staff could not have been nicer. I wish we still lived in Athens so we could eat here regularly. Best of luck to Preacher Green's!
