My first time here was today after church.
We wanted to try somewhere new for brunch so we settled on here.
The food was okay but the service was better.
Xavier was our waiter & he was personable & took his job seriously.
We ordered a veggie omelet, the shrimp & grits , catfish & grits and crab egg rolls and a margarita flight to drink.
The crab egg rolls were good but tasted tooo much like crab- if that makes sense.
I had the catfish & grits & they were okay- I would have loved some more Cajun spices peppers sauces SOMETHING to make the dish pop a little more.
The shrimp & grits were good. Only 3 shrimp were received but the texture of the grits was spot on.
My mom said her veggie omelet was good however they didn’t have any picante sauce or salsa.
And of course the highlight was the margarita flights- Xavier recommended some & we selected the other 2
I didn’t really get a New Orleans vibe from this place honestly it just felt like regular brunch with beignets on the menu. 🤷🏾♀️
The food is absolutely delicious and the service is even better. Donald even brought me out a piece of white bread to eat with my catfish. They have an oyster special on Wednesdays along with $7 hurricanes (they are strong).
Overall, my friends and I dined outside and had a great experience here. (We went on a Wednesday for the oyster special)
✅Pros: Food overall didn’t disappoint. The gumbo and crawfish mac were delicious. The jambalaya was okay, nothing spectacular/worth recommending. The crab egg rolls reminded us of a crab cake in an egg roll, but it was still delicious! The star ⭐️ of the show would probably be the oysters -they were on point!
Our server Raimon provided great service despite how busy they were. The staff were kind, patient, and accommodating. Randy and another server also ensured we had what we needed. It was truly a team effort which I appreciated.
Outdoor seating offered
❌Cons: The seating indoors is pretty tight and it was rather hot inside.
The Hurricane drink was not my personal favorite or something I would order again.
Long wait time
Etouffee and other dishes (for example: po boys) were not available as advertised on menu
Amazing place for some new Orleans style food. The service was friendly and entertaining. The food, although a bit on the expensive side, was very good. The portion size was small compared to the pricing. However, the quality and taste was outstanding. They automatically add a 20%tip to the bill, this is mentioned on the menu so it was not a surprise. The staff worked in such harmony that the differently earned the 20% and more.
If you are looking for a place with friendly staff and great food this is the place.
You need to eat here. And I'll prove it. I have family from Louisiana. And this entire meal, atmosphere, and service were fantastic. Let me explain why...
My wife found this place online. Because we were close, we decided to visit on a whim. From the moment we walked in, they made us feel extremely welcome. The music was dope and fun. The owner served us, made us laugh, and helped us pick excellent choices (I doubt there's a bad selection on the menu). He sounds just like family from Louisiana. And his service made us feel like family the entire time.
The food was amazing. We started with crab egg rolls and chargrilled oysters. They were light and flavorful. Together with the sauces, they were fantastic. We then put in an order for gumbo and the shrimp platter with crawfish Mac and cheese. I wanted grilled but he recommended fried. And he was right! The fried shrimp paired perfectly with the crawfish Mac and cheese. The shrimp were lightly fried, tasty, and meaty. My wife's gumbo was savory and tasty with a good sized crab leg resting underneath the gumbo contents.
Sadly our meal had to end. But with delicious beignets that we devoured rapidly. If you read this far, you've had enough time to make your decision. Choose D'Juan's Bistro. You won't regret it. And we will be back
