Came here for the first time a few weeks ago. I decided to play to safe and order a sweet tea and the baked ziti. The tea has a weird taste. I really enjoyed the garlic knots. not a huge fan of too much garlic, but these had the right amount. The ziti was hot and covered in a nice layer of cheese. I was expecting to get asked if I wanted additional cheese, but the server never did. It was an decent dish, I would say one of the better Italian places in the area.
Our visit was during dinner service on a Saturday night. We were seated immediately for a party of 5. The garlic knot/rolls were good, but would have been better a bit warmer. The dipping sauce was a garlicky/tomato sauce which we all liked. House dressing on house salad had good flavor, but was too watery. The kids got the kids cheese pizza, which okay. The husband order the Stromboli which he said was really good. The teenager ordered the shrimp scampi which was over powering in garlic and almost covered in chopped cloves. I ordered the fettuccini alfredo which was also strong on the garlic flavor but a bit thin in consistency. All in all it was okay on the dishes we ordered. As for service it was just good, but I didn’t like that our food didn’t come out all at the same time. Two of us were waiting a bit before the waitress realized we didn’t have our food yet.
My son only like eating out at one place Ippolitos. He has loved their food since he was 14 and he is now 18. We celebrate birthdays and graduation dinners and always have amazing customer service.
I don't want to say that Ippolito's makes the best pizza I've ever had, because they don't. But top three? Absolutely. And I've eaten a lot of pizza. A LOT. Their crust is fantastic, not too thick, not too thin. Toppings definitely set Ippolito's apart, the pizza is loaded. It's not overly greasy which I appreciate as well. I've never eaten any of their other food because I love the pizza too much to pass it up.
This place is great - when all of my carryout order is actually in the bags, and when the staff is feeling like being friendly.
I frequently come by to pick up carryout, and 3 of the last 5 times, something has been missing in the order. After calling to see what can be done, the only resolution I'm offered is to spend another 30 minutes on the nightmare that is Barrett Parkway to get the missing item while the rest of my order goes cold.
The carryout/bar staff is consistently indifferent, and generally responds to questions/requests as though they're annoyed to have to answer questions like "Can I pay my bill?" and "May I have a beer while I wait for my carryout order?".
It's never been the same person twice; however, the last time it was "Server: PM B (#2)". Police officers who have pulled me over to give me tickets were warmer and friendlier than she was. I try to give the benefit of the doubt to each new person and leave 15% - 20% for a carryout order, but I've seriously overpaid for the level of service given.
I'm giving 3 stars, because in fairness to the dine-in servers and chefs, the service is great, as is the food.
Next time I want Italian carryout, however, I will try my luck at one of the other 2 Italian restaurants in the same intersection.
