Course is really nice! Steve was very rude. We had a large party and we had booked days in advanced and when we got there he yelled at us and was very rude about how we were to tee off and get in carts. Steve himself would detour me from coming back.
Considering the extreme heats, the course is in good shape. Fairways are good, and the greens were rolling true. Some of the tee boxes were baked out, which could impact the footing. It's really short, even from the tips. Because of the distance, there are a few doglegs or forced layups. The hazards shouldn't come into play on most holes. At $60 on a weekend, it's decent value. There was no cart girl, and no waterstations, which should be criminal in this weather.
Always enjoy playing here. The views from the elevated tee boxes are amazing and I love the variety of holes + how different the front and back 9s feel.
Greens are SLICK. Get your practice time on the putting green or you'll definitely be 3 putting.
The short par 4s force you to make a lot of risk-reward decisions - especially on the back. A good day off the tee will lead to some low scores.
Most of the fairways are in very good condition, but there are a few places that are pretty washed out. The sloping hills combined with that Georgia clay can't be easy to manage. On a few holes this forces you to layup because the ball will roll 100 yards on that clay and into some tough spots. You won't really know it until you've played it once, so keep notes! You'll knock off at least 5 strokes the 2nd time through.
If I'm being picky, there are a few holes that could use some tree trimming.
Amenities are solid. Great clubhouse and restaurant. Driving range is decent (although mats only), and the putting green is nice.
Would love some water coolers around the course during this summer heat though.
Pace of play is always good in my experience and the course is walkable.
Well worth the fee to play.
This is by far one of my most favourite golf courses. Each hole is uniquely designed to be challenging and fun to play. The fairways are clean, clear and not cluttered with unnecessary junk like some other courses.
The views on most of the holes are incredible: you have the backdrop of the Kennesaw Mountains, the beautiful hotel at the front and beautiful grounds all around.
I recommend this course any time, especially in the fall when everything is so beautiful.
We come here a few times a week to play 9 in the evening. You will catch some really great sunsets if you play in the evening. The course is well maintained and there are some really interesting holes here. My only complaint is the greens. They are tough, but a fun challenge if you aren’t used to greens that roll. They also get tricky around the green because it gets muddy. The staff is always friendly and helpful. We have never had an issue with booking tee times. They have precautions for COVID-19 (required masks inside, thoroughly sanitize carts, pool noodles in hole, etc.). The pace of play is sometimes slow because there are a lot of beginners that come to this course. There are multiple putting/chipping areas by the driving range that are great to practice on while waiting for your tee time.
