Sonny's BBQ

A lot of people mention barbecue joints like Fat Matt’s or Fox Brothers when they talk about good barbecue in Atlanta. But I actually think Sonny’s is underrated. They have decent baby back ribs and good sides.

Sonny's is a great BBQ spot. We came to this one - in Marietta, GA - from the Blue Ridge, GA area just to eat before heading back to the ENC(Eastern North Carolina) area - which needs one of these. I think you get a good portion, the prices aren't too bad, & the service was great.

It's been awhile since I've been in a Sonny's BBQ but I decided to try it again in Marietta on Highway 41 near Roswell Road. Didn't go very well. Sat at the bar for about 5 minutes before anybody acknowledged me with a halfway full bar at lunch time. I placed my order finally and when it arrived there was not as ordered. I ordered ribs without BBQ sauce. Not a big deal as they came with barbecue sauce on them.so when I finally got the servers attention she said she would take care of it. What is troublesome to me is that before they would bring the correct ribs out they took the ones off my plate and took them back into the kitchen. Don't know what they did with them if they just wash them off or they're going to re serve them to someone else. But every restaurant I've ever been to that's had an issue leaves the old food or the messed-up order on the table and brings you out the correct food. In addition there were several people getting frustrated as they couldn't get their orders placed. Once it all got served to me correctly it was fine. Seems to be a lot of trouble for a lunch. Won't go there again for a while I'm sure

Seventeen years later and the food couldn’t get any better. Was in Georgia 17 years ago. Came to Sonny’s after church . This place automatically became my addiction. Coming from Seattle area barbecue is not plentiful or none existent in restaurant style, I was eager to find my old friend and restart my favorite addiction of Sonny’s. Seventeen years since I discovered it and it’s just as good as when I had my first taste. Keep up the good work folks. That many years and still finger licking good. That says a lot.. Fabulous. Keep up the good work.????????
