“The restaurant is an unassuming place in an old strip mall but don't let that deter you. The food is served from a buffet line so you get to see the choices of food beforehand. I was undecided on getting either the stewed beef or oxtails, they let me have a taste of each. The stewed beef was very good, quite tender and flavorful but the oxtails won out. Had the meat with a generous serving of red beans and rice with plantains and a small green salad on the side. It was all wonderful stuff. My wife had the roast pork which she liked a lot. I had a taste and was in agreement. We will be bringing our boys here the next time we come since I think they would like this place as well. This place is well worth trying out if you like Caribbean food.”

“Ponko Marietta is open!!! Ponko chicken is THE BEST chicken in all of the country!! This location is much smaller than the restaurant in Atlanta as it sits in the Marietta Square Market (really nice food court). I highly recommend Ponko Chicken over and over and over. Do yourself a favor and get there and see for yourself.”

“We really liked the shrimp dinner, my wife and I, very good, I had the 15 piece shrimp dinner, hush puppies and fries for 17 bucks. Very fresh and the portion size will fill you up. We went on a Sunday and the server they had was the best I have seen at a restaurant in a long time, she made sure we had everything we needed and our drinks never got half empty. Great food and great service.”

“This is a really fantastic experience for dinner. The food, the staff and the management have made every visit here phenomenal. I do my best to bring all my friends from near and far to this great gem. The staff has great suggestions for food and wine; I would start with the picada para dos and red sangria. These two things will give you a memorable tour of the offerings. The location is small and doesn't have great parking, but parking is always found nearby. I do suggest calling ahead for reservations because it's a small space that does fill up. I've went in dressed very casually and not felt out of place. Strongly suggest you try it out.”
