El Girasol

I lived in Cordele for about a year from 2016-17 and this is 1 of 2 restaurants that were not only my favorite just in that town, but in the world. The Girasol Special -Texas style, is by far the thing I crave the most from Georgia. It’s not because it’s some fancy pants, high end meal, but it’s the absolute yummiest Mexican inspired plate I had in Georgia. Me, my son, and his dad usually would go there every day or every other day to share one if we ALL didn’t end up getting one of our own lol. If you driving through that part of S Georgia or if you live there and haven’t tried it yet I highly recommend and cannot wait until I’m able to go back! We’ve tried to recreate it a few times at home but we’ll leave it to the professionals haha

Grew up in South Texas and I am particular about Mexican food. The food is great and about as authentic as you can find here.
