I visited this restaurant on a Tuesday evening and it was quiet and had a nice soothing atmosphere. Great place to relax and have Vietnamese food. I tried the lamb and shrimp vermicelli with noodles. It was very tasty. The lamb and shrimp were roasted and very flavorful. The sauce was tasty too. I added it to my salad and noodles and I was pleased with the flavor. The staff was attentive and even gave me a complimentary dessert (coconut ice cream) which I really enjoyed.
Nice place for solid Vietnamese food. I got the shrimp noodle bun, my wife had their beef pho. The bun plate was decently sized, and they were definitely generous with the shrimp. The pho bowl looked a little smaller than some other places, but that was deceptive. Plenty of noodles and beef, the broth was exceptional. We also split an appetizer of the shrimp rolls, which I’d highly recommend. Their Thai tea was a great dessert after the meal.
It seems like I I have tried every single place to eat along Buford Highway. It seems like it. I haven't really made a dent because there are so many different culturally diverse places to dine along the Buford Highway corridor that you can get 6 different versions of everything. One of those is Vietnamese and seeing as my wife has been on the Vietnamese kick here lately, not that there's anything wrong with that, it's just that we decided to go try a new restaurant. This particular Vietnamese restaurant was your quintessential hole in the wall. Located behind a Chevron gas station on Buford Highway in Chamblee, Com Vietnamese Grill is a quiet little place nestled in the back of a strip mall next to Lee's Bakery. However, as with any place described as a hole in the wall oh, the food is pretty good. I tried of course the shaking beef, which on the menu was advertised as a shaken beef stir fry, which was not exactly how I would describe a stir fry but again it's left to personal preference. The dish, while good, wasn't like any other shaking beef dish I've had at other places. But again it's personal preference. My wife enjoy the beef dish with something called fragrant rice. It had vegetables in it plus a fried egg on top. She let me try some and I am merely wished I had gotten that. Flavorful, very tasty and the rice was just heaven. If you're in the mood for some good Vietnamese in a quiet setting common come to Com Vietnamese Grill
I love this place and eat here 2-3X per week! The food is always good & fresh. The staff is super friendly & welcoming!!!
We got the fried tofu egg rolls for our appetizer, which were good. We got the chicken curry, which had great taste. The papaya was a nice touch. The tofu pad thai was lacking though. It didn’t have as much flavor as I would’ve liked. I also wish the tofu was breaded and fried—I think that would’ve helped. For 1 appetizer and 2 filling entrees, it was $25 without tip. So cheap!! We recommend.
TL/DR: Very good and cheap, but I don’t recommend the pad thai.
