The hostess was nice and welcoming. The restaurant atmosphere reminded us of old school restaurants by the sea. Crowd was older. Tomato bisque was good enough but awkward to share as we were not given 2 spoons. Our entrees were good. I really enjoyed the seafood pasta. Service was awkward throughout and we waited over 15 minutes for our check after making the request.
Great first experience and will definitely return! Our waitress, Kacy, and support staff were prompt and attentive. I enjoyed a bowl of Gumbo the Gulf shrimp special with the Saffron rice. The first plate was very spicy, so the manager promptly replaced it. My wife enjoyed the grouper sandwich and our daughter had the crab cakes and lobster bisque. The wine was excellent as welll as the Key Lime Pie. TTL $285 for three people.
At Message in a Bottle in Dunwoody, my dining experience was truly exceptional. Our group indulged in a variety of drinks, including the Funwoody Water with a Swedish Fish treat, Stop Making Sense, champagne, Chardonnay, and an impressive selection of wines. The attention to detail in crafting each drink was evident, setting the tone for the evening.
The Sweet Corn hush puppies were a standout appetizer. The precision in their cut, the satisfying crunch, and the remarkable sauce made them a delightful start to the meal. The Ceviche del día transported my taste buds to Latin America, offering a burst of freshness and flavor. I, a novice to oysters, became an instant fan after trying them at Message in a Bottle. The "30A" Smoked fish dip was another highlight, with a taste so tantalizing that I was tempted to savor the entire portion.
Sharing the gumbo with a fellow diner was a choice I wish I didn’t make! It delivered a perfect harmony of salt and heat, leaving a lingering satisfaction. Moving on to the entrees, the Fisherman’s Bounty, crab cakes, and the catch of the day were met with unanimous approval from our group. Personally, I opted for the Cioppino pasta, a delightful medley of fresh shrimp, mussels, and fish, each bite bursting with mouthwatering flavors.
The ambience of Message in a Bottle is a testament to its charm—welcoming, clean-cut, and with a distinct beachy vibe. It complemented the culinary experience, making our visit memorable. Not only does the restaurant deliver an exceptional dining experience, but it also comes with the added benefit of being affordable. Despite the high-quality and diverse offerings, the prices remain reasonable, making it a fantastic choice for those looking to enjoy delicious cuisine without breaking the bank. The affordability, coupled with the welcoming ambience and mouthwatering dishes, further enhances the appeal of this hidden gem in Dunwoody. Overall, Message in a Bottle in Dunwoody exceeded expectations, offering not just a meal but a culinary journey that I look forward to revisiting.
Everything is on point. I had the Mahi mahi Ibiza style; girlfriends had salmon Ibiza style and Fisherman’s plate. Caesars salad is has anchovies (I love them). Great flavors. Food comes out hot. Water is poured all night; attentive service. Nicely decorated with a porch. Recommend for date night; or night out w friends; and make reservations. I wish them continued success!
A wonderful new restaurant in the Dunwoody Village. Oysters were incredible, good size, well sourced, plated with the works. Cioppino pasta was a favorite, hearty and generous portion of seafood and linguine. Lobster pot pie was a real comfort food. Key lime pie is noticeably better than most, not a typical custard style, but a dense, proper rich filling. Staff was incredible. Our server, Sam was knowledgeable, concise, and kept the wine coming. Brian, the manager was attentive and made sure we were enjoying our night. Looking forward to coming back for a few more signature cocktails and more oysters.
