Magnolia Room Cafeteria

This gem is FANTASTIC. Mostly southern cooking, very gracious portions, incredible taste, all at a reasonable price. Comparatively, this will put most other cafeterias to shame. From the moment you are greeted walking in the door till you are thanked leaving, every person working was more than friendly, speaking to everyone they passed. Don't miss an opportunity for an incredible meal with true southern charm and hospitality! With so many choices, we will definitely be making this a regular.

The atmosphere is nice. Has a nice classy country feel. We were greeted with a kind smile. The work team was accommodating and answered any questions I had. They had a variety of foods, however, I was limited on what I could eat because most of the veggies were cooked in pork. So I chose the stuffed pepper and eggplant casserole. Both were delicious. I had already planned my next visit, until I looked at the Health Dept score. It was 85 I believe. Once the score improves, I'll definitely be back. Overall I had a nice experience

Wow is an understatement.. this place is remarkable. The food is excellent. I had the catfish and was blown away. The customer service is 5 star. The entire line of food looked very appeasing. Everything looked fresh out of the oven or fryer.. the corn on the cob was very buttery just as I prefer. The dressing with cranberry sauce is delicately homemade and delicious. I look forward to my return

WOW! Some of the best down home Southern cooking I have had in a long time. The Smothered Porkchops were cooked to perfection. I also enjoyed the Mac & Cheese, Fried Corn, Turnip Greens & Broccoli salad. My hubby loved the Fried Chicken, Rice & Gravy, Collard Greens & Cornbread. The portions were large & the Coke & Iced Tea were free refills. Oh the Sweet Potato Pie was delicious. The place is spotless, bright & welcoming. I highly recommend this place. Very similar to Matthew's in town, if you've been there. It's got the old-time, country cooking food going on, and a lot of the foods are really good (though to me, not as good as Matthew's)! I personally wasn't impressed with their fried green tomatoes, but their catfish was good, their Mexican cornbread was excellent, and I love that they have sugar-free options for dessert, even if I personally didn't need those. I went through with a group of about 50 people after an event, and their event room had enough space for us, and they got us all fed pretty quickly in their buffet line format. The atmosphere is what you would expect from a country buffet restaurant. I'm giving 4 stars because I didn't feel there was much that set them apart from other restaurants, and because I felt like some of the people who were working there (excluding one really sweet man behind the counter!) really could've tried a little harder to engage and be friendly. I always try to be kind and maybe even make jokes with staff anywhere I go, and here it was 50/50 whether I was met with kindness or a bored sort of irritation. Still, if country cooking is your jam, you should go here, because it's pretty good!
