Doug's Deli Downtown

Upon arriving the deli, I could tell it’s local and not franchised. It has cute decor and all the pastries presented behind the pretty showcase. The menu selections were sensible. I had the pimiento cheese sandwich combo. It was just perfect. Their pickles are homemade cucumbers in pickling spices. There were plenty of assorted flavored chips to choose from. It’s highly recommended to dine there.

The service was great and I liked the atmosphere a lot, but my Cobb salad was just adequate. A paper plate of lettuce with a few thin slices of practicality tasteless tomatoes, a little bacon, boiled egg, a few slices of avocado. The blue cheese dressing was quite good, though. I’ll be glad to give it another chance.

Great sandwiches and amazing grits! They messed up one of the sandwiches in our order but they promptly fixed it and even brought us a cookie for our troubles!

This was a fantastic meal, and I would highly recommend coming here!

Doug’s Deli is a truly wonderful place to eat and work at as well. Julie and Doug are incredible people and they are doing amazing things at this restaurant! The food is always delicious and fresh and the staff is SO helpful and polite. The desserts are sweet and fresh and the atmosphere is welcoming and homey. I would recommend Doug’s Deli to ANYONE in the area looking for some delicious food and quality customer service!

We've eaten here a number of times and every time the food and service have both been exceptional! The menu has so many options and great healthy choices. It's great that you have the option of a half sandwich/half salad also. Homey atmosphere inside and 4-5 tables outside seating. It gets pretty busy over the usual lunch hours but in my experience the food still gets to you fairly quickly. This is one of our top places to eat in Rome.
