El Rio Mexican Restaurant

I visited El Rio with a group of 8 at around one o'clock in the afternoon Saturday - there were around three or four other tables eating, but the place was otherwise pretty quiet. However, the service was REALLY slow. It took ages to get our drinks ordered, and then another age before we received them. Food wasn't AS slow, but it still took a while. However, in fairness, while we waited they were pretty good about keeping our table stocked with chips and salsa - and the salsa is very tasty! I'm not usually much of a salsa person, but (although it wasn't very spicy) I was gobbling it down today. In addition, the food when we finally got it was DELICIOUS. The quesadillas are absolutely stuffed with cheese and meat, the fajita nachos are loaded with toppings, the enchiladas were amazing. Will definitely return in the future - when I'm not in a rush, of course.

This is our favorite place to eat in Cumming. We came here for the first time and I started crying over the tamales tasting just like my grandmothers did growing up.
Now we come every Friday, drink margaritas and listen to good music and eat great food. We always meet new people (being transplants to the area worth it!) and the staff is amazing! Always happy and enjoying work - they treat our son like a prince and always have a moment to check in chat us up and cater to us.
