Gumlog Bar B Que & Fish Lodge

My first time eating from Gumlog BarBQ was quick service for a to go order. The food was fresh, good fish, great hush puppies. The fries would be better crinkle cut, the slaw was good. All in all it was a great meal!

Serves BBQ, fried seafood, and hush puppies...what more could you want? The breading on the fried flounder and butterflied shrimp is wonderful. Not greasy but crisp. I don't even care for hush puppies, but I tried them; the outside was crisp and the inside softer and slightly sweet. The waitress was very efficient and quickly brought anything extra we needed. This is a restaurant with a strong community presence, and I can see why!

The food is delicious. I love the catfish fillets, best I've ever had. Their tarter sauce is the best, I could eat the hush puppies alone as a meal. The slaw is perfect. I tell everyone that Gumlog is my FAVORITE!! Place for a catfish plate. I bought 2 plates tonight. And they're both for me. One for tonight, the other one is for tomorrow. Love it. It's my treat for me, after a long week of work.

Gumlog BBQ has some hands down excellent BBQ and fish! Not to mention everything else I've ever ordered on their menu! Everybody treats you like you're at home with family. I've been to this restaurant quite a few times and they have never let me down. Do check their hours of operation before you go because they're only open fri, sat, sun the last time I checked.

Best kept local secret. Good food and courteous staff make this a good place to visit. However, if you are in a hurry call ahead and get it to go, this place gets busy quick and stays that way.
