4 Rivers Smokehouse - Midtown Atlanta BBQ

I had takeout from four rivers during the visit to Florida a couple weeks ago so I was pretty excited to try the Atlanta location. Down in Florida I had only had the pulled chicken and pulled pork and a bunch of sides all of which were absolutely delicious. On this visit me and a friend tried the four meat platter that’s intended for four people.

We chose the brisket, burnt ends, pulled pork, and ribs. The ribs were good but not amazing, as was the brisket. The burnt ends were fantastic and the highlight of the meats. The pulled pork was delicious as well.

The baked beans are the best I’ve ever had and I cannot recommend them highly enough. The cornbread was good but it has jalapeños in it so if you’re not into that be aware. I had to pick them out myself.

Service was great and all the employees were super friendly.

Perfect brisket and great sauces. Other good barbecue restaurants do their meats well but fail terribly with their sides. 4 Rivers sides are exceptional. Everything was well prepared. Fast service. Casual setting with a great view on the balcony.

Dined here after a late afternoon Georgia Tech football game, which was convenient due to the store's proximity to the Georgia Tech campus. 4 Rivers is in a charming building with dining areas split between two levels and with an available outdoor patio. The restaurant format is fast casual. I'm a BBQ aficionado, but 4 Rivers didn't fail to impress. I'll return to try more menu items. The brisket I ordered was tender and juicy - such that I enjoyed it without adding any sauce. Parking can be a little tricky, so check maps to see the street where you can enter parking decks from the rear.

Very glad to have found this place just below west midtown. We will for sure return to this place and become regulars. The staff here are very friendly and made our experience enjoyable. The food was also very delicious. The only recommendation I have is keeping the food warmer somehow.
