Antico was built by Giovanni Di Palma on the west side of Atlanta. This place has a lot of soul, flavor and is a smooth operation. The experience was wonderful.
The pizza itself had great texture, flavor, and was cooked to perfection. The menu offers both a red and white style pizza with an array of combinations. You seat yourself or order takeout. There is also a BYOB option which is great if you do not like Italian style beer.
Antico was packed but everything moved quickly and smoothly. If you are in Atlanta this pizza place is worth your time.
The best pizza I've had in a while. Delicious marinara sauce and tomatoes. The extremely hot ovens deliver a unique delicacy in minutes. Pizza crust for the ages...I could eat it with nothing on it...wait, I did actually around the edges. It was so good we ordered a third pizza to eat and took the remainder home.
The sandwiches at the Take away window are out of this world. We had the turkey pesto. Just, extremely good. My husband is European and discerning, and let’s just say we were both so excited to have such a delicious authentic Italian sandwich.
Yes, the pizza is expensive! BUT, it's absolutely delicious. The ingredients are top quality, the flavor combinations are spot on, and we never have to wait more than 15 minutes for our order.
If I had one complaint - sometimes when they are busy the oven gets too hot or the pizza is left in there a bit too long, and the crust gets a little too charred for our liking.
Visit on a weeknight for more available seating, less char, and great pizza.
Anyone doubting Antico needs to show something better, and considering it’s nationally known on the East coast OUTSIDE of New York speaks volumes. There just is no better pizza in Atlanta, and worth every penny. Pro tip - do not ignore the meatballs - with a salad (they come with tasty cheese bread) these are a classic in their own right!
