Bennett's Market & Deli

The beer I've tried here is always good. Cool spot.

I really want to love this neighborhood store, but too often they seem to fall short. The staff have never been very friendly or professional, which I feel is the cornerstone of a neighborhood business. You are not greeted by the staff or given much thought. The last time I was in this week an employee, who appeared to be in charge of the food orders, was on his phone the entire time and really loud. I thought he was talking to me when I first walked in he was so loud... I also feel that everything in the store is really expensive, which wouldn't be so bothersome due to convenience if the customer experience were different. It also lacks in selection, but I will say is good for a last minute beer run, a few necessities in a pinch, or cheese and crackers for unexpected guests. What appears to be their trash on the side of the building is a bit obnoxious and is always overflowing into the neighborhood, but no one cleans it up. I have just had high hopes for a great deli/butcher shop/bodega/ market for years and was so excited when Bennett's opened in this location, but never felt that they've lived up to their true potential. Hopefully the ownership can work on a few things to improve the overall experience.

Quaint neighborhood market and deli with good wine and beer selections, quick market items, and sandwiches to order. Great place to go for a quick bite, or to pick up last minute items when heading out for the evening.
