I absolutely love the food here! If you have never been to Atlanta this is a staple you have to try. Also be prepared to wait! The food is definitely worth it the seating area isn't huge but if you're looking for that southern Homestyle soul food this place is the best place to eat at. They're known for their Fried Chicken but their pork chops are amazing as well. If you're a vegan they have tons of sides just ask a couple of questions to see what sides are cooked in meat but they have options available including the vegetarian plate.
OMG! I can honestly say this is the best SOUL/Southern Food I've had since I reached the south. This is southern cooking, I mean I could taste Mississippi, Tennessee, and Georgia. The food was moist and flavorful. The wait staff was attentive and the atmosphere was friendly. And yes you have to try the fried chicken. The restaurant is a little pricey but it's well worth it. I will try the entire menu one day except the liver and onions. I'm sure there's is good but I'll pass. My mom and I together has mac and cheese, baked chicken, corn bread dressing, fried green tomatoes, yams, corn bread muffins, fried chicken wings (YES), collards greens, Ice Tea, and Strawberry Lemonade. And the drinks were even good. We didn't get dessert this time, however I'll review the caramel and red velvet cake soon. Two snaps and a circle. Truly the best food in the south next to my auntie and grandma cooking.
If you want to step back in time to that old style small diner feel with the great taste of the south then this is your location to enjoy. I had the fried chicken and yes it is out of this world delicious! Tasty fantastic vegetables but the crowning glory we’re the Lima beans...I could’ve eaten the entire pot. Yummmm!
One more thing there is a long wait on the weekends.
Good meal..... just expensive for what it is. Fried chicken was super crispy, a little dry. Mac and cheese is good and I really enjoyed the key lime cake! The manager there was very friendly and welcoming.
