I'm usually weary of over hyped, over marketed eateries, and this placed proved me right unfortunately.
The wife and I went there to celebrate her birthday, and I chose the lunch crowd to avoid the crowded dinner service and ripoff prices.
Let's start with the parking. It's a scam. They have a lot of places out front in their strip mall, shared with a furniture store, but they force you to use valet. It was empty when I arrived, and I had to hand over my keys to a kid who literally turned it around in the same spot I parked MYSELF. Whether their policy or not, they should pressure the landlord to scrap that valet or scrap it themselves if they are the culprits. This is not downtown.
The service was friendly and good; no complaints there.
The food was very average. Considering the rave reviews I read everywhere, it was a letdown. We got the deviled eggs and fried zucchinis as appetizers. They were good in a ordinary, satisfying way. My shrimp and grits was another letdown. They were no better than something from Flying Biscuit cafe. Again, very ordinary in a satisfying way. The problem is that for such a hyped eatery, ordinary is not acceptable.
The in house made ice cream was fine, but it tasted no better than store bought.
Overall, the experience was disappointing. My wife agreed; we were both hoping that it would be something special, but it was ordinary.
    I wouldn't go back again.

A relaxing restaurant (at least at lunch time) with an innovative menu that incorporates local ingredients like muscidines! They were my favorite part of the summer growing up and having them expertly incorporated into their quail dish was a delight. Definitely coming back for a romantic dinner with my husband.

Truly contemporary southern food and decor. Loved the fact that there is complimentary parking, and everything I ate, I finished. I had a vegetarian app and entree, and it was delicious, flavorful, and satisfying. Say yes to the ice cream sandwiches! The only thing I don't like is that you can't get ice cream sandwiches for dinner.

Amazing as always. Chef Satterfield loves vegetables and you will too. The plates are seasonal; menu constantly changes to keep it exciting every visit, but the egg appetizer is a menu staple. It's a must-order every time. Their desserts are great as well, get one of those too. They also rotate. Speaking of, bring back the banana dessert!

We first visited Miller Union a few years back and we're admittedly more impressed on that visit. On our last dining foray, it felt a little like they had lost their edge. The best way I could describe it was that the staff appeared to feel pressured and rushed even at 5:30pm. It felt like they were trying hard but we're overly stressed about delivering.

The food was good for the most part and tasty. The Crispy Pork Chop was very nice. The Ravioli was tasty as well. The Grits Fritters appetizer was a small bowl of tiny little fritters with no sauces or anything. The dish felt unfinished, especially as compared to the other appetizers.

Overall it was fine, albeit a little less so than on our past visits.
