Clearly, come for the fried chicken plate. Even the collard greens are a cut above average-- although to be fair the average I am familiar with is best described as pretty terrible.
If you're a local with more familiarity then maybe I'm being generous, or it's my experience with Southern food showing.
But the biscuits were quite good and the fried chicken, while definitely not the best I've had, was still pretty delicious. Fried green tomatoes, which seems odd to be a fancy dish, were actually just right as far as the intensity and flavor of the breading counterbalanced by what was a surprisingly decent tomato (given we are definitely NOT in tomato season as of this visit).
This place is one of the most amazing restaurants in Atlanta! The service is great, but I've never had anything there that I didn't love! My lunch favorite is probably the Catfish Reuben. A big crispy chunk of catfish, thick slice of pastrami, a tangy slaw and delicious sauce. I highly recommend trying that or some of the other great sandwiches if you're in the area for lunch.
Absolutely incredible. Very customer oriented service, great atmosphere and more than excellent southern food. Best Sunday brunch place. I recommend the biscuit and gravy! Well done!
I visited for my birthday dinner. We were seated outside which was inviting and pretty. From the marble tables, substantial wood chairs and greenery - the outdoor space is fantastic! The grilled watermelon salad was something like I've never experienced. The flavors were rich, different and made for an unexpected and exquisite appetizer. I had the fried chicken, mashed potatoes and collard greens. It was delicious! Our waiter, Sean, was friendly, courteous and attentive. I highly recommend and will return soon.
