Good poke! The poke was served in a shallow bowl and they put the rice in a scoop in the corner and the mixed poke in the middle. Sometimes when it's served in a bowl the rice gets drenched in sauce and you can't balance the poke with plain rice. This might be an Asian palette thing for me but I liked my rice separated like that.
Poke is just deconstructed sushi. The rice is sushi rice, and they have some Asian sides/garnish (wasabi, seaweed salad, cucumber salad, crab stick salad, pickled ginger, etc) but there is not enough rice in a "two protein" bowl.
Furthermore, the fish is cubed, not sliced, the optional ingredients are strange but Japanese/Hawaiian themed, etc. I get that Poke is Hawiian, but compared to chirashi bowls, there's just not enough of it, in parts or in whole,to justify the price/experience. The seating was cheap, largest table was a 4 top, no booths. Drink was a soda fountain. Ambient music was neither Hawiian or Japanese, nor top pop (thank God) but was just... The whole place gives off this hipster vibe.
The biggest letdown for me was i announced I had never been here before, there was no immediately locatable paper menu, the digital menu reads from right to left, and the ingredients list offers a million possible combinations but no suggestions that I saw. I kinda picked a few ingredients that did go well together, but had no idea how it would turn out. It wasn't till I paid at the register, on the side of the counter, that I saw the paper menu hidden out of sight, WHICH CONTAINED SUGGESTED BOWLS! Maybe 5-6 of them, each with more accessory ingredients than the three I chose... Had these been noticable on the digital menu I would have picked one to see what kinds of tastes they thought went well together, and based on the number of ingredients probably a larger quantity of food.
I'll eat there again, for one of the special bowls, but won't go out of my way. Probably at least a few months until I am in the neighborhood at food time. So overall, meh. I prefer chirashi but I'll give it another go before striking it from my list
My girlfriend and I went there tonight. Ot was our first experience at a Poke Bar. They were very nice, the food was very fresh. Very good food and experience. Will return again.
This place is absolutely fantastic. I had never tried nor heard of Poké before coming here, but did so at the recommendation of a co-worker and trusted friend. This is now one of my favorite places to go eat around Roswell/East Cobb. I absolutely love it and highly recommend it.
Delicious Poké bowls being served in a clean and sanitary environment. I’ve had 3 meals here in one month. Which is unheard of for me.
I love that there is a loyalty program now. ????????????
