Had BBQ today from PTL and it was simply the best BBQ I have ever eaten! I had the sweet potato casserole, baked beans, macaroni and cheese, pulled pork and the chopped chicken! It was all amazing! I will now put this place on my list of favorite places to eat! Thank you to the owner who I believe delivered our catering!
Peggy & Jake y'all have put your feet all in this!!! I tried to eat it all but there wasn't enough room in my stomach for all this awesome goodness to fit! Y'all surpass Sonny's! And have passed by Dickeys too! BBQ like this is HARD to find! I will be back! Drinks & sauces were a help yourself deal so that was great!
My 1st time. Great friendly service. Pork was smoky, moist and great by itself. Baked beans a little sweeter than most but very tasty. Brunswick stew was full of meat and vegetables that tasted delicious. Have (7) sauces of varying heat and sweetness to try with everything. I will be back.
We visited PTL for the first time yesterday and found their BBQ delicious. I was especially impressed with their Brunswick stew, which was spicy-sweet with big chunks of meat and veggies. It took a little time to figure out their menu and pricing and substitution options -- especially since very little explanation was volunteered by the staff, and there were different signs showing plates, sides, etc., as well as a printed menu. You order at the counter, and they bring your food to your table. Service was very slow and seemed rather haphazard. We were left on our own to figure out self-serve drink options and to choose from the variety of sauce bottles on adjacent shelves. Went back to the counter to request some pickles for my BBQ sandwich, and it took forever to get them. Apparently they don't know that dill pickles are a "must" for a BBQ sandwich. I asked if they served beer and immediately experienced an evangelical chill. Well, the place is next door to a church, and is named "Praise the Lard". Guess I should have known better than to request the devil's nectar.
Good BBQ, but kind of random and disorganized.
Eager to bring guests with us to try the barbeque. We had been there before. Food is great! Stayed there to eat. Air conditioning was not on. This was on Sat 5/25 with it hitting 93. Food great but super hot inside. Not sure if they were having trouble with AC because restroom was cool. Definitely will try again
