Always a favorite. Great people and great food. Go hungry! Buffet is Thursday and Friday! No, this is not Pappadeaux's. But for a great lunch it's hard to beat.
The Cajun Cafe is a little hidden gem. The location is clean, the service is outstanding and the food is delicious.
We started with gator bites. Those are always a Cajun favorite. The menu has everything from gumbo (made properly with a chocolate rux), to Po Boys. We came for dinner but there is a buffet option on Thursday and Friday.
If you're craving Cajun, you won't be sad. Sit down and enjoy an ice cold Abita Purple Haze and get to know the owner and her family. They are incredible people.
First of all, the service was outstanding! We came in on a Saturday night a little later than I'd prefer but the owner and wait staff were great. Very engaging and friendly and the service was quick and spot on!
We had the gator bites with remoulade. The gator was tender and tasty with just a perfect little kick to the sauce. We also sampled the chicken and sausage gumbo - the gravy was excellent and well flavored and the dish overall was perfect. For entrees my wife and I shared the seafood platter and the grouper special. The seafood platter came with a beautiful piece of thick, fried catfish, fried shrimp, fried oysters, hush puppies and French fries. I'm always cautious about fried oysters but these were delightful and fresh tasting. The grouper special was a healthy sized piece of gently blacken grouper with a crab cake and crawfish tails topping it. My only suggestion would be to serve the crab cake on the side, as an additional protein, as both were delicious and deserved to be featured separately. The special came with red beans and rice which were good but we just didn't have room for!
If you are looking for a locally owned and operated Cajun restaurant with outstanding service, please check these guys out!
LOVE Love love NEW MANAGEMENT! Chef Jams is Awesome. Yesterday I was pleasantly surprised and impressed with my meal! I 100% recommended the Blackened Crabcakes and the Stuffed Grouper. I WILL BE BACK! Looking forward to trying everything on the menu!
Cajun Cafe is located on Peachtree Industrial Blvd in Duluth, GA. They have been open for some time now in a location that's honestly not too noticeable from the road.
The interior decor is straight up New Orleans with the paint scheme and murals. You definitely get that Bayou vibe while there.
They offer a lunch buffet on most week days. The options on the buffet are rather limited though. You only get few seafood options on it.
Their main menu is bit deeper with different seafood options and cuts. They offer crawfish, which is a staple of Cajun food. The crawfish here, at least for the lunch portion was kind of dry and bit bland in terms of flavor. It wasn't bad but if you compare it to other places that serve similar cuisine, this place isn't quite up to par.
Service overall is pretty good, they come by and check on you and refill your water quite often so that was a positive experience.
Overall, the seafood here is just okay. Yeah, I know it's tough getting fresh seafood anywhere in GA especially if you don't plan on spending a fortune, so can't really complain too much there.
