J’s Mini Hot Pot

Chinese-style fondue with clear broth of different options. If you want protein (beef, chicken, tofu etc) and vegetables, this is a good place to go. Mix your own dipping sauce at the sauce bar and cook in your own mini pot with boiling broth.

Wonderful Chinese hotpot joint near Gwinnett Place Mall. They are very kind and explain how to do everything. Definitely more of an ethnic restaurant, so I'd recommend it only if you are comfortable with eating experiences out of your comfort zone. They often throw in free items into your order, I got a free red bean shaved ice! 😋

You really can’t go wrong. For ~16 bucks you get a huge plate of veggies and extras and a plate of meat. You also get a chance to make your sauce at the sauce bar, so don’t forget to do that!

The nice bonus at the end is a shaved ice topped with either red bean or grass jelly.. I always forget that it comes with the meal so it’s a nice surprise!

This is a cute little place that offers hotpot. You would think since most of it is veggies you wouldn’t get full, but you actually do. I love the sauce bar! There are a plethora of sauces that you can choose from, and you can pick however many you want. You can create unique combinations that all get mixed together to create a flavor bomb to dip your food in. There is also a selection of several different broths to choose from as well. I got the shrimp and beef combo and my friend got the clam and beef combo I believe. Highly recommended for a fun experience of cooking your own food!

For the price this is an amazing hot pot place, but keep in mind I give 4 stars for one reason. That being take home experience factor for those who do not know what hot pot is and are first time trying. In other words you're expected to already know and understand what hot pot is at this location. Not easy for new time eaters.
