Nak Won Rice Cake(낙원떡집 둘루스)

Delicious rice cakes that are popular with the locals. Come early as some varieties sell out fast especially on the weekends. Owners/workers are always nice.

Not too many places where the plain cakes are delicious. This is one.

I love dduk shops. Especially when they provide a whole bunch of different variety. Even in Ktown LA, you don’t see all the dduk jibs offering that many different types of dduk. I feel like there’s a lot of potential here to build out their “cafe” side a bit more. Change the deco and colors to make it feel warmer and more inviting.

This is hands down the best (in terms of quality, variety, and “authenticity”) tteok (Korean rice cake) shop that I’ve seen outside Korea…folks in the atlanta area are lucky! They make the rice cakes fresh every morning and you have to eat them the same day. Totally worth the price!

The BEST rice cake spot in all of Atlanta! Trust me, I have sampled many a rice cake pack from pretty much all the Korean supermarkets in the area (Mega Mart, H-Mart, Assi, you name it), and Sweet Rice is the best, hands down. They regularly sell out if you come too late on the afternoon and all the Korean aunties and uncles have beat you to the best ones, so be sure to come early in the morning for the best selection. The mugwort tastes very fresh in the green rice cakes; sometimes I feel like other rice cake providers are just relying mainly on food coloring rather than fresh mugwort itself. The honey rice cakes (small round ones) are to die for! Although just the plain selection is already VERY good. Yum.

I also really enjoy the beverages here. They have a wide selection of teas. This is one of my favorite spots to work from in Duluth. Many other cafes are too hip and crowded; this spot is quiet and the workers leave you to do your own thing, which I really appreciate. Not to mention the place is very spacious for you to spread out and take a call if you need it. Good wi-fi. Whenever I have a craving for rice cakes and friendly, speedy service, I come here!
