This is one of those ‘don’t judge a book by its cover’ places. I was skeptical at first because usually I don’t see many cars here when I pass by. The interior is absolutely beautiful and spacious. I came here for lunar new year and apparently the whole place was booked. Food is pretty good but I was more impressed by the design.
Interior is beautiful. Dim sum is okay. My rice noodles were served kind of cold. The tea was more bitter than I would like ( just personal opinion) but everything was not too bad.
So as a dim sum spot I would say Royal China makes it to my "Very good" list. I have eaten A LOT of dim sum.... A LOT. From Philly, New York, Boston, Indianapolis, Chicago, Toronto, etc. I have been to many different hot spots.
Royal China is by far the most luxurious restaurant I've been to in general when it comes to interior design. Do not let the outside fool you, the restaurant is filled with ballrooms, giant chandeliers, and high ceilings.
Now Royal China does not have largest variety of dim sum options. They have all the favorite classics, but nothing too unique and special.
What Royal China does better than any other dim sum restaurant I've been to is the service. There were two individuals in particular who really made our dining experience so pleasant. They always asked if there was anything they could grab for us so we wouldn't have to wait for the cart, and the way the peking duck was served to us was amazing.
Solid place for dim sum. Definitely stop by if you're in the area
Love DIM SUM here.
Update,
I still do love DIM SUM here at lunch but dinner menus are salty in general. I tried 5 different food on my last visit and I was expecting same level of balanced and flavorful of food but only to be disappointed. Another problem is the temperature of served food. They were all cooled down already even before your first try. Conclusion, try DIM SUM for lunch but don't get fooled by atmosphere and expect same quality and grandness of food from dinner menus.
One of the best dim sum places in near Atlanta area. Compare to canton house in Doraville, I prefer this place. Some servers may miss your table though. Employees here need more training but taste covers all negative facts. I recommend this restaurant if you want upscale environment with authentic Chinese dim sum taste.
