““Life Soup Korean Restaurant”! This is the name of this restaurant. For someone who likes Korean-style soups and stews, it was the name of a restaurant that I felt like I had to go and try. In conclusion, I definitely want to go next time and try other Korean soups and stews. In particular, next time I really want to try Gamjatang (M6: Pork Back-bone Stew), which is spicy and made with pork backbone. The first soup I tried at this restaurant was Ox Knee Soup (Do-Ga-Knee Ttang). The doga-knee soup is very attractive with the white-milky, soft but chewy meat that comes out of the ox knee. I was curious to see a spicy picture for this ox knee soup on the menu, so I ordered it. When the food I ordered came out, I realized that its picture on the menu was incorrect, and it was the same looking as I know. When I looked at the soup, it seemed a bit thick, so I sprinkled some black pepper powder on it, took do-ga-knee meats out of the soup, and dipped them in the vinegar-soy sauce-based sauce that came with them. As expected, it is the delicious do-ga-knee soup that I know. After enjoyed do-ga-knee meats and soup, I put steamed white rice into the soup and ate it. It tasted a little bland, so I added a little radish kimchi broth to adjust the soup's taste, making it more delicious. Looking at other people around me, I noticed that they were eating gam-ja-tang (pork back-bone stew), and I thought I should definitely try gamjatang at this restaurant. I was able to end my lunch with the thought that I would definitely come back to eat gamjatang next time.”

“Formerly known as "One Tofu," a familiar haunt of mine, this restaurant underwent a change of ownership, transitioning into a Chinese dining establishment. While initially disheartened by the transformation, my spirits were lifted upon stepping into the bustling atmosphere on a Sunday afternoon. Opting to leisurely explore the menu, my companions and I savored our dishes and beverages amidst lively conversation. We kicked off our culinary journey with the Fried Chicken in Sweet and Sour Soy Sauce (유린기), accompanied by Chinese Sake, Yantaiqunisno. The chicken boasted a delightful crispiness, complemented by the sauce's tantalizing blend of sweetness and spice, heightened by jalapeños. Following suit, we indulged in the Stir Fried Meatball and Vegetables (난자완스), a rarity to encounter such authentic Chinese fare elsewhere. Our culinary voyage reached its zenith with the Seafood Shabu Soup with Noodles (해물샤부짬뽕). The broth, rich and flavorful, boasted an array of delectable seafood including crab legs, abalone, squid, and a medley of vegetables. However, the true standout was the exemplary service. A seasoned waitress graciously elucidated on the ingredient-sourcing process, even divulging details about their sister restaurant in New Jersey. Their commitment to freshness was evident, with seafood sourced directly from Manhattan and swiftly transported to New Jersey. Much to our satisfaction, the bill reflected a modest sum, considering the caliber of cuisine and service rendered. Overall, we departed deeply impressed by the exceptional flavors, attentive service, and reasonable pricing. “We were so excited Fung Mei replaced the old Orient Garden location. The renovations and decor look great. (The tabletop stone at the bench seats are noisy though with the plates moving on it.) Service was okay. I made food request for no white onions, but they still added it to two entrees. Tea cups were a bit dirty and we asked for new ones, but new cups weren't brought out until we asked a second time. We ordered jiam bong seafood noodle soup in both mild spicy and non-spicy. It tasted great and portion was good, but I felt like it was a lot of noodles and not a lot of other things like veggies. They added sea cucumber to the soups, which was my first time having that. It tasted fine. Broth was good. Menu is just a paper take out menu. No pictures. They have Korean, Chinese, and Americanized Chinese food to satisfy a variety of people. We're glad to have them in Suwanee, but if you want more authentic Chinese food, Duluth is still the place to go.”

“This is a super cool Korean BBQ restaurant! The inside feels modern and sleek, and there is lots of seating. The service was also exceptional; our servers were friendly, very informative on all of the meats, and attentive. They cooked the meats to perfection! We tried the combo meant for four people, but it definitely could have fed up to five or six people. Every meat was of the highest quality and taste. They had a strong, fiery taste with delicious marbling and tenderness. Of course, there was a plethora of side dishes, and we particularly enjoyed the corn cheese. Definitely check out this spot for some scrumptious food and great service!”

“Really fun concept. Took 3 teens and they loved it. A ton of ramen options. Then you pick your add ins and drink. The customer service was great. Reasonably priced too. There were 4 of us with 3 toppings each plus drinks and the total was $64. But, because it’s a cool concept, it’s a popular spot but also pretty small so it gets crowded and tight with minimal seating. And when busy, the hot water machines overheat so you have to wait which just exacerbates the crowding. Popularity is a great problem for the biz to have but just bring your patience.”

They even have a cute little photo wall by the front waiting area if you wanted to take a pic. A good variety of items on the menu. We were seating right away with no reservation. Pho Tai (small): asked for no cilantro. It was perfect for my kiddos to share. Loved the broth flavor. I did feel like there wasn’t a lot of meat, so would probably order a medium or large next time. Bon Bu Hue: if you do not like cilantro, please make sure to also request no Vietnamese coriander. The flavor is very similar. We didn’t realize and only asked for no cilantro. Luckily they were very nice and understanding and made a new one without cilantro and coriander. However, the broth is no longer spicy…I wonder if the coriander is premixed in? This one has less fish sauce taste than some of the others we have had. Charbroiled pork with steamed rice: definitely felt like the meat portion was small. However, the flavor was really nice! I was very appreciative that the waitress brought out a pair of scissor, two extra small bowls and plastic utensils for my kids to use without me asking for it. Very thoughtful! Overall, solid pho place in Suwanee! Will be back to try more.”

The prices were a couple of dollars higher than some of the other Mexican restaurants in the area, but I would say comparatively, it was worth it. The atmosphere is festive and the live music is loud and traditional sung in Spanish, definitely not a quiet place to eat, but that was fine. “I recently dined at Boxete Kitchen and I was thoroughly impressed. The interior exudes elegance, reminiscent of a five-star establishment. The shelf checkout system adds a unique touch, and everything is impeccably neat. I ordered cheese tteokbokki, chicken, kimchi fried dumplings, and jajangmyeon—all delicious, but the cheese tteokbokki stole the show. Despite the upscale ambiance, the prices were reasonable. “I generally have a hard time rating an eatery with 5 stars across the board was skeptical of the 4.9 rating on Google. This place just opened the night before we visited, which you would not have guessed given how well run the restaurant is. We sat at the bar as the restaurant was packed. We had some cocktails and small plates to share. The bartenders were great and our food arrived quickly and well prepared. The atmosphere was upscale and the restaurant was buzzing. If you are anywhere near Suwanee and want to try some great middle eastern inspired Mediterranean food this is the place. I will be back.”
