I was looking for a convenient place for my riding group to assemble that had good food, great coffee, and excellent access to the North GA mountains. I found that at "MC's Kountry Kitchen". (They pronounce the "MC" as "Mac's".) They've been at this location for 80 years ! Apparently, they are quite famous locally for their biscuits... which were all gone by my 10AM visit.

It's a low slung building just north of Clarkesville (1/2 mile south of Hwy 17) on Old Hwy 441. Don't let the lack of a big sign or paved parking lot fool you... this is a great place to enjoy breakfast or lunch. The dining area is spacious and extremely clean, with your choice of tables or booths. The help is very friendly and the coffee keeps coming. The restrooms are spotless.

I had a delicious bacon and vegetable omelet (which was not on the menu) and they were very happy to prepare it. And it appeared on my table in minutes. With several cups of VERY delicious coffee, the bill was just at $5.

For a local eatery, with real food cooked to order, and excellent coffee, I really don't see how you could do any better.
