We keep trying local Mexican restaurants, trying to find one that suits my desire for authentic Mexican flavors, if not authentic dishes—our search is over, as far as I'm concerned! This small restaurant is tidy, well kept, and staffed with attentive Hispanics who speak both English and Spanish.
With generous portions for the price that are well seasoned in homage to traditional Mexican cuisine (not too Americanized in flavor, and with enough spiciness to be comfortably edible for kids), Mi Tierra Mexican Restaurant will be our new go-to for Mexican dining.
The chips and salsa were a perfect balance of spice, fresh cilantro and onion, and flavor. Their sweet tea is not Southern sweet—there's just enough sugar to cut the tea's natural bitterness—but it is ICE COLD and fantastic on a hot day. My steak chimichanga didn't survive long enough to get a picture before being devoured, my husband's Fajitas Texas were so good he wouldn't permit me to taste any (echoing my sentiments about him tasting my chimichanga) and he reported his corn tortillas were tasty, our kids split a plate of burritos deluxe, and we all enjoyed sharing an order of flan for dessert.

The portions are huge! The options are the typical Mexican dishes but many unique ones you will not find at your typical TexMex restaurant. I had a Burrito Verde (pork with a very fresh green sauce). It was huge! And delicious. Came with your typical mexican rice and beans. also had their chicken soup (tortilla soup) and it was excellent. The salsa is probably as good or better than any I have had anywhere. All ingredients for all their selections are very fresh. The wait staff are very friendly and helpful. I highly recommend this restaurant. There have been a few restaurants at this location. I hope Mi Tierra is around for a long time!

I eat a lot of Mexican food and I am in love with this place. It is a little outside of town but worth the short drive. I love the cozy feel and the large TVs. It is so clean and the staff are very attentive. Prices are reasonable. However, the main event is the food! It's delicious and fresh. I recommend the chorizo cheese dip and the chicken soup! Of course, your selections should be made by personal tastes. I can't think of one thing that they could do to improve. Definitely 5 stars.

Grilled chicken burrito was unseasoned and boring. No beans in the burrito or lettuce salsa cheese. The salsa served with the chips was good and service was attentive but the food needs more flavor. New restaurant so maybe still learning how they want to be. Will try back in a few months...being from San Diego my Mexican food standards are higher than the local norm
