Love love this place especially the buffet. Their fry chicken is to die for. I have never had a bad meal here. When I come to visit my parents we probably eat here at least 4 times within a week. Can’t beat their prices
Great variety, allot of non fish and vegetarian options. Their battered fries and sweet potato fries are amazing. They offer portions like mamma would dish out to you :) The customer service is top notch!!!
Fries could be cooked a little longer in my opinion.
Great comfort food! Fried pickles and fried mushrooms were amazing. Cozy dining area and friendly staff. It was recommended to us by a local resident we met and asked, "Where is a good place to eat?"
The service and food were very good. Our fries were not served hot, but warm. The server was very accommodating and sweet. Everyone worked the Southern charm. Even the woman at the register. Southern charm & hospitality at their best.
We stop here when we go down to buy fresh shrimp at Shell Creek Seafood. Ate lunch today and it was just as expected - friendly and tasty. I see a few other bad reviews with people who go in with expectation that their food quirks are going to be catered to. I would just say find another place. Altman's is local, delicious, and just what you would expect in the South. If you order anything other than the buffet for lunch, you're probably looking for another restaurant. Today they had smothered Salisbury steak, smothered pork chops, fried chicken, rice, mashed potatoes, collard greens, okra and tomatoes, beans and okra, and biscuits - along with a dessert and full salad bar. All of this and a drink for $9.50. The food was not fancy, just flipping fantastic. Very flavorful, not too salty, and just like a Southern mother would prepare. Again, can't please everyone - especially those who just wander off of I-95 and end up in the wrong place. Altman's is the RIGHT place if you want Southern comfort food packed with flavor. And, the staff was very friendly. Can't wait to go back again
