This place has like a old school vibe like I saw cookies and snacks in there that I grew up eating the barbecue is extremely good and the people are friendly it's like going to the family cookout without the family you know what I'm saying meaning that it's not your family but it's like family like the people are down to earth but it's great barbecue it's a great little grocery store to go to remind me of my childhood
Service was slow today even though they wasn't crowded. Meat was good. But it was a little tough were it is usually tender.
This is my very first time having food from this place.... the line is wrapped around the place. I ordered a full slab of ribs, uncut. My guy loved them... thank my 1st time here was amazing..... amazing staff amazing food . I will be back
My first time trying Chester's and I'm having mixed feelings about the food. The flavor of the ribs were pretty good, but the quality and quantity you receive compared to other bbq spots in Columbus don't compare. The pieces I had consisted of more bone than meat, but like I said, the flavor of the ribs and bbq sauce was good.
On to the sides🙄🥴....the Mac definitely needed to be baked because the cheese sauce they used was super thin and runny. The flavor of the Mac was fine, but I definitely had the cheese sauce on my clothes after I opened the lid. Probably wouldn't get it again unless I know for sure it was actually baked.
Baked beans.....tasted like from the can and just added sugar.
I appreciated the ribs being good, but compared to other bbq spots they don't have the same overall value for your money.
The Lemon cake was good!!!
Also, the space itself isn't too wheelchair and or handicap friendly.
If you want good barbecue, ho to Chester's. The ribs are delicious and the homemade sauce makes them better. Not in the mood for ribs, try a chipped sandwich or a smoked leg quarter plate. You won't be disappointed! Be sure to grab a peach nehi or grape crush in the glass bottle to rinse it down with..
