Well worth the wait. This place easily had close to 100 people in and out while I was there. The food was absolutely scrumptious and the service friendly. I left full but light. We had just about everything on the menu and wasn't dissapointed with any selection.
I am going to eat here again probably within the next day or two. :)
They have some very good food. I love their catfish fillet meal. I love their coleslaw, and I have tried their Brunswick stew and it is good also.
The food was really pretty good. Price...not horrible, but a little much for what you get, maybe I caught it on a day when supplies were a little low. I like that it has a family feel and atmosphere with regard to staff. They were friendly and accommodating. Definitely go at least once, give it a shot.
Walden's is a very busy restaurant. They are setup for drive thru/carry out service, but do offer seating indoors and outdoors. No table service is available.
The chicken tenders were delicious as were the fries and hush puppies. The cheese grits were decent, but I'm not a huge cheese grits person.
The pricing is a bit high, but you do get decent portions to help offset the cost. The pricing for a large drink (32oz) is ridiculous. No soda, tea or any non alcoholic/specialty drink should cost north of $3 unless it's in gallon size.
Given they were very busy on a Saturday evening, service was a bit slow, but I won't hold it against them. My family likes Walden's a good bit, but I'm indifferent on returning.
