There are plenty of places that serve up BBQ because down here in the South, "BBQ is king". That being said...many of those BBQ places are NOT worth going to. Fortunately for me, this is not one of those places. In my opinion, Sisson's Old South Bar-Be-Que has some of the best BBQ for miles and I can assure you that you will not leave this place hungry.

My party of 4 ordered the brisket sandwich, Brunswick Stew, BBQ chicken sandwich, and a cheeseburger. This place made their own BBQ sauces, had very tasty sides, and had very friendly/attentive staff. I even threw them a "curve-ball" by changing my order AFTER it was taken into the kitchen. They were respectful of me and the kitchen...but still was able to still accommodate me. They especially got "points" for checking with the kitchen FIRST before blindly accepting my change. The restaurant was clean and had plenty of seating. The brisket was cook perfectly (a little spicy), the chicken freshly cooked and prepared. The burger was VERY tasty, cooked perfectly, and made fresh to order. Also worth noting that I had no trouble finishing my coleslaw. Unfortunately, I was not able to try their Coconut Cream Pie. Everyone walked out of there with to-go containers and full stomachs. I will definitely be back again. Only next time, I'll save room to the Coconut Cream Pie. Thanks, Old South BBQ. You are a great find.

The only downside is that if you weren't paying attention, you could easily drive past it, so take your GPS.

The food was delicious however the dine in experience was definitely not what we were expecting. We arrived at 2:45 and placed our order. The entire time we were eating 4 employees were at the register talking about how it was their lunch break and they get an hour for lunch. One volenterred to stay behind and lock the door while the others went ahead. She told them to order for her and she would eat when she got there. They refused saying then your food will be cold and your drink will be watered down. If they were planning to close we should have been told they were taking take out orders only. Very disappointed and will not be going back. The food was good but we also pay for courteous service and relaxed atmosphere. We will find other places to eat.
