Southern Pit Bar-B-Que

Everything that hometown barbecue should be! They smoke their own meats on site, and the smell is enough to make your mouth water as you pull into the lot. The brisket, chicken, ribs and turkey are all excellent, but the pulled pork is not to be missed! The brunswick stew and cornbread are also a special treat, but be sure to leave room for one of their exceptional blackberry or peach cobblers (with ice cream, of course!). I've eaten here many times over the years and have never been disappointed.

This place is AMAZING!! ???? the food was top-notch..and the sweet tea was to die for, we thoroughly enjoyed the atmosphere. If you're in Griffin and jonesing around for great barbecue, check this place out. You will not be disappointed!

I've been coming here since I was a kid, it's a great restaurant for any generation. They have all kinds of cool signs, tools, and other assorted southern artifacts all over the walls, and there's a nifty toy train that circles through the restaurant every so often. The food is absolutely delicious. We're big fans of their pork sandwiches, cornbread, Brunswick stew, and fruit cobblers. The staff is always so welcoming as well, and their service is so fast! In all the times we've come to Southern Pit, we've never left unsatisfied.

My wife and I and another couple visited here and it was okay. The service was good and the restaurant itself was quaint. The food was okay and the price was a bit high for what we ordered. One thing I did enjoy was watching the toy train on its tracks circle the room. But it wasn't anything that we would go out of our way to visit again. Local folks probably do often. I had the beef brisket which was okay. Overall, like I marked it, just okay.
