Great food and atmosphere! Friendly owners that treat you like family. Also, Sweet Home Alabama filmed the bat scenes there. Highly recommend it!
Food was awesome the owners was so nice. Love there brunswick stew and you get alot of food for your money. If you haven't tried there fried catfish fillet you should awesome.
While to me it's never been the cleanest or the friendliest, I have been eating there for over 30 years. Any time I go towards south Georgia, I try to curve the map to go that direction... We use to lease a hunting club just 5 miles away from there and if you thought it was good on a normal day after riding down the road for business or pleasure, you should taste it about mid December after you've been freezing your butt off in a deer stand for 6 hours... Fireplace was always going and it brings everything to a whole new level of good... I still remember Mr. Heavy would come out fussing about my uncle Mike. He would rip the bread bag open instead of use the tie. Mr. Heavy would come out of the kitchen and say "that's what they put these ties on the bread for"... I think at some point my uncle started doing it just to get a rise out of him. We really liked him. RIP! P.S... They have pictures with him and Reese Witherspoon from the filming of Sweet Home Alabama. You would never know it unless you look really close, but there was a bar scene in the movie and it was filmed there. The inside looks totally different in the movie tho.
Stopped by this gem on our way home from the beach. Generous portions, loved the pork plate. They have white bread on the table so you can make 1 pork plate go a long way.
