Just to prepare you: this review will be unabashedly positive.
Firstly the staff cordial and friendly. If you are curious as to where all the help went for other establishments look no further. Everyone was attentive, upbeat and eager to please. From the owners to the cooks it feels like exactly what it's envisioned as: a passion project shared by a tight group. Which leads to the food...
I had a burger, my wife a steak and fried pickles between us. The pickles were fried perfectly. Crispy and tangy. It was served with a a dill based ranch which I didn't particularly like in pairing. Go with the superior "Rick's Sauce." My burger was fantastic and my wife's steak, a NY steak, was exceptionally flavorful for the price point.
Lastly the local landmark that is the Just South building. Massive space even with only part of the original building being used currently. Having seen the inside some years earlier the renovation is just short of miraculous from its previous state.
All in all Just South is just right. It has high ceilings, higher expectations and seemingly room to grow. It will become a local favorite or a regional sensation if quality is maintained. Highly recommended.
