The food is made fresh. So you better not be in a rush. It's good home cooking. A lil pricey for just breakfast for our taste but we wanted to try a local place and not a chain restaurant. Amazing fried apple pies tho.

The best food in the south. Every thing is made from scratch so make enough time to order and get your food. Absolutely awesome food. Wish I could explain my feeling. We are from Sarasota FL and we enjoyed every bit of it. Thanks

This is home cooking at its finest. About 2 mile from Helen Georgia, Wendell's is a homey eatery that serves a breakfast that will leave you fully satisfied. Eggs cooked to perfection and biscuits served with either a milk or brown gravy. We ordered eggs over easy, grits, bacon, sausage, biscuits with milk gravy and pancakes. The milk gravy is like momma makes, fluffy, rich and a plenty. If you like crispy bacon ask for it very well done. The sausage portion is large and satisfying. Our pancakes were cooked with that beautiful crisp edge and tender center. I really enjoyed their coffee, rich and full bodied without an acidic aftertaste.
To say the service was good is an understatement, they treated us like family. We were told that on very busy days one could wait 45 minutes to receive food, but that is understandable as everything is cooked from scratch.
This little restaurant sitting right next to the Shell Station is definitely our go to breakfast spot in Cleveland on the way to Helen. We will try there lunch menu the next time we visit Helen.

Best Sunday morning breakfast ever. My 3-egg veggie omelet was bursting with diced ham and yummy fresh vegetables. Attractively arranged fresh fruit plate for husband and me to share. Great coffee, fluffy homemade biscuit. Friendly, efficient service, with several check-backs to see if we needed anything. Decent price, lovely atmosphere. Definitely going back---soon.

Excellent Service! Amazing Food! Very Good Prices, Lower than most. I suggest bringing a very big appetite! So much food! We will definitely go back every time we visit Helen, GA.
