This is like that place you and your buddies would always talk about when you were younger. The interior decor is absolutely nothing to write home about, but you’d be sorely mistaken if you let that influence what you thought about the quality of their food, which is quite good.
My favorite is the Poco Loco Moco, which reminds me of lots of my dad’s Thai cooking with white rice, fried eggs and pork on top with a tasty sauce.
The only reason I give this place four stars is because the interior really isn’t all that nice. But the food is a five-star experience and as a Kailua local this is a place that I come to with some regularity. Certainly not a bad option for tourists either if you’re looking for a more authentic, Hawaiian experience.
If you are looking for a casual place that serves great local specialties and where the locals gather, Times Coffee Shop is the place to go. Very friendly and welcoming staff make visitors feel part of the community. A note, my personal breakfast favorite, fried rice and eggs that comes with heavenly Hawaiian macaroni and potato salad can easily feed at least two people with the full order. The buttermilk pancakes are light and fluffy goodness.
Came in at 10:30am, no wait, sat immediately. I was with my family of 4, we ordered variations of the corned beef, rice and eggs, side potatoes and buttermilk pancakes--OMG!! SOOO DELICIOUS!!!
This is an excellent place to pick up breakfast. Everything on the menu is fantastic, especially when it's served with their fried rice. Their coffee is great too. The service is always wonderful and welcoming. They have terrific lunch fare, if you happen to arrive later or for some reason don't like breakfast.
This is the original Times Coffee Shop but like it's sister restaurant in Kaneohe the food doesn't disappoint. The restaurant is small and is next to a popular dive bar. The service is fast and food is delicious. Come at the right time because the restaurant fills up fast.
