This review is for their garlic chicken because their fried rice was bland and too sticky. It still gets the five stars because the garlic chicken. I grew up with a wonderful Filipino neighbor lady who would cook garlic chicken for me and my sister but she passed away years ago in Washington and me and my sister never expected to taste the garlic chicken like how she use to make it. Her's were made with little drums but the taste was the same. When my sister and I tried this chicken it made us think of our neighbor Wanita, made us feel happy and sad at the same time.
The food is pretty amazing. I got the chicken 3 ways. I never ate that before and I was pleasantly surprised by how tasty it was. The macaroni salad is really good here too. It seems like they really take pride in the quality of the dishes they put out here. The service is really great too. The guy brought the food to us with a great attitude. Definitely will continue to eat here.
Came here for breakfast on a quiet Sunday morning. Walking in, you immediately notice the cleanliness of this location. On the menu- two things immediately stood out :The Island Sweet bread and “everything in da fridge” rice plate. Both items lived up to local flavors and creativeness one would look for in local grindz. 10/10 would recommend.
The restaurant is set in a cozy shopping nook located near Waipio Costco.
I went in to get a hot bowl of saimen on a cold day. Friendly staff brought it straight to my table when I ordered in. The broth is tasty and the added Spam adds a nice touch to the saimen.
Fresh tasty food prepared quickly or prepared in advance. Popular spot for local foods. Prices are average.
