Saw a "buy one get one" offer on ubereats for their egg bao. I've been CRAVING bao and ordered immediately with the shrimp fried rice.
Bao was fluffy and warm. Egg fried rice was also fluffy and SO FRESH and brimming with tiny shrimps. I have no point of reference for Cantonese cooking, but I'll definitely be back ♡♡
I'm just surprised there's not more reviews. This food is SO GOOD.
I ordered something from Wei's Cantonese. They have a listing on Uber Eats. I'm not sure if they do Doordash. I just wanna try something Asian from a place I haven't ordered yet, and I chose this one.
The serving size for all the three items I ordered feels like they're at least 25% bigger than the usual serving size portions you get from Chinese takeouts. That alone created a good impression since their pricing is competitive with other Asian restaurants.
There is something DECEPTIVELY good with the way the meals were cooked.
The Mongolian Beef I think is the best Mongolian Beef I've tasted yet. At least here in Idaho. Before this one, I think Gouang Zhou has the best version but since that restaurant is now closed, I think this one is the clear winner.
Well, actually, even if Gouang Zhou did not close, I still think I'd still prefer Wei's version.
The Mongolian Beef has a soup. That soup is great. The sauce is thick (not liquidy) and has a very nuanced taste. My hunch is oyster sauce but I'm not a cook.
In any case, any Asian cook who knows how to use oyster sauce is a tier above your normal Asian cook. The Mongolian Beef could have gotten away with a simple soy sauce but the cook went the extra mile with it.
Same thing can be said with the noodles and the fried rice. They may tend to look very generic, but I can easily tell that the person who cooked them has legit skills.
I think the product listings could have benefitted from a more professional looking photos, because the picture may tell you that the items are mediocre, but as of now, where things stand, Wei's Cantonese is a contender for the best Chinese place I've tried in Idaho. And this is coming from someone who has tried Wok Fusion, Red Pavillion, and Yen Ching.
The food feels like you've visited an Asian family dinner and it just so happened that the family cook is really really that great. Maybe there's no intention to make the serving look restaurant-like, but it doesn't matter. The food is just that great.
Amazing food! Takes me back to Los Angeles Chinese take out. The bacon pork fried rice was off the hook. If you are a pork fan you need this dish as part of your meal. Also ordered the best Mongolian beef I have ever had. The beef was tender, full of onions and mushrooms with plenty of gravy. It had a slight kick to it that put it over the top. I love fried green beans and Wei's did not disappoint on this dish. We also had the orange chicken and it was cooked perfectly. The food was delivered and all was hot and ready to go. Do yourself a favor and try Wei's, you won't be sorry.
Our new spot for Asian food! Crab Rangoon was fresh, chicken lettuce wraps were beautifully seasoned and enough for 3-4 people. Kung Pao beef was better han I’ve had anywhere . My wife’s Panang curry was outstanding over pineapple rice!!
This is the best Asian food I’ve ever had! The pork fried rice is perfection! Love the crab ragoons . The beef and broccoli is delicious! We also love the chicken and green beans. Delivery or pickup only. Totally worth it!!!
