Great comfort food and service! Finger steaks and home made pie! So good even the locals eat here!!!
Our dinner at the Bowling Alley was more than my guests expected. I took them to them here so that everyone could find something to order that they liked. It was prime rib night and we definitely were not disappointed. The prime rib was perfectly cooked medium and completely eaten. The teenagers enjoyed specialty burgers and my French dip was juicy and delicious. While many people choose their dining location because of the food, you might find yourself going back for the great service. The wait staff gave us the attention we needed from the moment we walked in the door. If you enjoy a traditional American style diner, the drive to Homedale is worth it for a dining experience at the Bowling Alley.
We found out about this gem from our camp host, Bill. I asked him the best place in town to eat - I haven’t been to another place, but this was an amazing experience.
Typical small town, everyone knows your name atmosphere. Friendly staff, great food that came out hot, quick service, very reasonable prices, and big portions too!
My wife had the finger steaks, a house original. The meat was super tender and the tempura batter was like a not too sweet donut. The biscuit and honey butter that came with it was so fresh, amazing!
I had the burger with Habanero jelly an melted blue cheese, sounds like a weird combo, but it was fantastic! It was served on sourdough bread because they had ran out of buns - it made it even better imo, try it.
Oh, and let’s not forget about the Caramel crunch cake - I’m wanting to know if they can ship one of those for my birthday! It is that good.
I believe this is a place that Guy Fieri or Phil Rosenthal would go nuts about - it’s Food Channel worthy!
Nice "hole-in-the-wall" establishment. Staff was extremely friendly, warm, and welcoming. Portion size was fitting. Your choice between 8 or 16 oz. Cut was tender and not overly marbled. Difficult decision between mashed potatoes and gravy, or baked potato with fixings. Both were good. Creamed horseradish could be a little stronger for my taste. Au jus needs some work IMHO - lacks flavor. Bathrooms could use a little updating. Nice feeling overall. I look forward to returning and trying the cinnamon rolls and pie
I really didn't want to give this place a good review because I don't want everyone to know about it. Can't deny however that this is a great destination for a good meal with good atmosphere and you can walk right through the building to the bowling alley for even more fun. We had a 10-person group and they took great care of us all of our needs were met, everything was super fresh and from what I understand all the beef is local from Wilder. Everyone enjoyed their meal and the portions were very good. I had the 16-ounce prime with the loaded baked potato and it was top notch. I swear the loaded baked potato had a half a pound of bacon on it! We had onion rings as a appetizer and they were phenomenal! If you live in homedale you already know about this place! If you don't live in homedale it's worth the trip, great homestyle cooking with good people bringing it to the table. The bowling alley is a classic style lots of fun, computer scoring and I hear they have midnight blacklight bowling, and league bowling for all those dedicated bowlers. If you're in homedale go support a local business. You won't be disappointed.
