Smokin Coop BBQ Pit

Excellent food and prices. Definitely superior bbq around here. Way better than Smokey Bones and less than half the price we would've paid there.

If your looking for good Barbecue in Northern Illinois Smokin Coop is the place. They have good ribs, good brisket, smoked sausage, and pulled pork is also good. I love their cornbread as well as their slaw and potato salad. They have great baked beans with pulled pork in them. They serve slices of homemade peach pie, apple pie and cherry pie. So if you want some good homemade food. Stop in and try this place.

I really like the atmosphere that they put together here. I have avoided it for a while, but came back to try again. Their loaded baked potato is yummy, love the baked beans and the new mac and cheese.

My only complaint is with the pulled pork. I prefer pulled pork that is not wet. I don't know if it is a sauce, or how it is stored. It is good for what it is, just not what I am looking for - 1 star.

Wonderful hometown smokehouse. Just opened for the 2019 season (it closes for Winter) last week. Was pleased to note that prices are same a last year. For $8 including tax between 11a and 2p you can get a pulled pork sandwich with a bag of chips and a 20 oz soft drink of your choice. They smoke their meats so the meat tastes great without BBQ sauce. But they also provide a homemade sauce for those who want it. A local favorite!

Never walk away still hungry! Pulled pork sandwich, cole slaw and drink for $6, you just can't beat it. Sitting outside in fresh air added bonus.
