Excellent food and outstanding staff. Food was very well prepared. The taste was not really authentic but the taste was good all the same.

New management has cleaned up the dining room and installed new tables and booths. The menu and food quality has been improved greatly. Most importantly the staff is friendly and always do an outstanding job.

Quaint little hole in the wall. Owner and wait staff was extremely friendly and welcoming. Service was excellent and prompt. My co-workers requested an item that wasn't on the menu and was able to get it made for him. Food was above average for Mexican food in Illinois.

So far my luck for good eats in the area is few and far between. So this place was a total refreshment. House salsa is a little watery, which is to be expected. If you can stand the heat, ask for the spicy salsa which is much better. Our meals came out faster that most fast food joints in the area. I dislike some of the Mexican restaurants in the area due to their sub-par cuts of meat, Sol Azteca does not have this problem. Everything was delicious and filling. Margarita was great. Most impressively, the staff seems to genuinely care about your dining experience. Very friendly place, do check it out.
