This restaurant was a nice surprise.
It looks like every other bbq place but the food was exceptional. I got the combo platter with brisket, sausage, and burnt ends. All were the best ever.
When we got there one server was handling the whole house but she did a good job and the service was great.
We will be back!
Decent, fast service and really good food, made to order. Our only qualm was that the two "spicy" barbecues they offered were not very spicy. If you have a sauce called "atomic," it should reflect the name and be hot as all get out. Not taste like warm ketchup, lol. But still, everything else was great.
We eat here every year for my birthday, and this is the first time I've ever been disappointed. We went last night (Friday) and they were out of chicken and green beans at 6:30. There were 4 of us and we all ordered dinners with sides. We got our meats, but only 2 of us got our sides. We asked the waitress about the rest of our food, and she apologized and said they had a new cook. She brought out 1 more side. 5 minutes later another side. It was probably 15 minutes from the time we got our meat until the time we got our last side. The food was good, except my friends ham was dry. Normally the burnt ends are several small chunks of beef, but for some reason last night they were 4 pieces much larger than normal, not really burnt ends at all. Hopefully it was just an off night, but not sure if we'll go back again.
Oh... So very good! Had the Friday dinner special. 1/2# burnt tips (beef), pit beans, & creamy coleslaw, cornbread for $12. Authentic, smokey, tender, perfect. Memphis sweet BBQ sauce is my favorite. Suggest you put sauce in the pit beans, it'll change your world.
