Feels like I’m back in Turkey
Damn, I love this place. Sometimes I come here twice a day when I'm not at the office. I like the food, the environment is casual and accommodating, and the prices are good. This is kind of a perfect storm really. It's also BYOB.
It has sort of become an extension of our kitchen. I work here on my laptop sometimes (i don't think they got WiFi though, I use my phone hotspot), bring a couple friends and a bottle to drink and make a social thing out of it, or just grab a steak sandwich (I didn't even like steak sandwiches before coming here) before heading home.
The food is made fresh. Usually they have a "dish of the day" which has always been delicious.
It can get kinda loud, and later in the evenings there's a bunch of people playing Okey. It's legit.
I tend to get --
Lentil soup
Lahmacun (order 2 if you got an appetite)
Steak sandwich or steak entree, splash some cacik (yogurt w/cucumber & garlic) on it (ordered separately, $3, people eat it on its own, nbd)
Dish of the day
The closest to a small town Turkish local coffeehouse experience you can get in the USA. Play some local tile game while watching Turkish soccer and sipping Turkish tea.
Cute little mom and pop place
Friendly service, tasty Turkish breakfast
