Italian Express

This restaurant has been a personal favorite for inexpensive, good food for over 15 years. The spicy gyros are a must have, and their gyros pizza is great as well. I haven't ventured past these two items on the menu, as I have never found the need to. However, their customer service, particularly for phone orders, leaves a bad taste in my mouth 70% of the time. I can't tell you how many times I've been asked to hold and have been forgotten about, or my order has been taken incorrectly. My favorite was the one time I asked for the total for a larger order and was told "I'll let you know when you get here". Alas, these quirks are expected from Desi establishments.

The only other complaint I would have would be the consistency of the food. There are times when I receive a spicy gyros sandwich barely any meat, sometimes there's more meat than I can fit in the pita. Lately, the tzatziki sauce has been super watery, which leads me to believe they have been running low and just water down what they have already.

Ultimately, should you go? Absolutely! This is a melting pot of Greek, Italian & Indo-Pak comfort food, and you won't find anything more unique or delicious anywhere else.

Very limited street parking. I placed an online order for pickup. Once I arrived my order wasn't even prepared! I had to wait 20 minutes plus minutes for my order. Which meant I had to move my car to a more permanent spot to avoid the chance of getting a ticket. The food was okay but not worth the additional time and parking hassle.

I have been going to Italian Express for probably more than a decade now and they never fail to impress. I always get their spicy gyros and on a few occasions have had their gyros pizza, both of which, are excellent. I highly recommend this place.

Great gyros jalapeño pizza. Always hot and fresh. Get a free drink with a large pizza - awesome deal.

Gyros don't taste as good as they used. For many years whenever I visit chi town I try to make it out to Devon ave just for some gyros from Italian express. The gyros and the white sauce just don't taste the same anymore. This time tasted bland. I hope they read this and bring the taste back.
