Sal's Trattoria

Love this spot! My husband and I always try to snag a seat at the bar. The hosts are always really accommodating and the bartenders are awesome. I try to get something new on the menu each time and I’m never disappointed. The Bolognese is incredible

Ended up at Sal's after another local place did not have any space (a shocker on a Wednesday evening). A friend of mine had enjoyed a lovely evening at Sal's a while back and I have driven by several times, curious about the place. My friend and I had tried calling (not sure if there was a bad number listed or what) and couldn't get through, but when we walked in we were welcomed by the whole staff. Our server was very attentive and even the bar tender came over to tell us all about a lovely post dinner port that we were trying. Good sized portions (but not overwhelming) and a great take on traditional Italian dishes. Great to know that we have an wonderful Italian place nearby!

Great meal from appetizers to dessert. Calamari, pasta dishes are superb. Don't forget the tiramisu and lemon tart.

Sal’s is a great place, one of the best Italian restaurants in Chicago! We went there for the first time tonight, and everything was elite. The service was far above and beyond. We had a last minute 8:30pm reservation but when we arrived our table was not ready; but they were very accommodating, honest, and friendly the entire time while we waited. After that, the service and the food was outstanding. Thank you for the great service, we will definitely be back!!!

I went there shortly after it opened, being delighted with the prospect of a new Italian restaurant near enough to walk to. Sadly the service was very poor initially. I gave them another chance tonight and not only was there service flawless but the food was delicious! Loved it! I'll be back again soon!
