Hash Chicago

Love love love HASH!!! I highly recommend. Now if only they expanded to lessen the wait times. Food and everything else is great. The recent staff change needs a little bit of training, but they're getting there! I'll keep coming back, and you should too.

This place has been on my list for a year, so I had to stop the procrastination and check it out. Ordered from the "build your own hash" menu. 2 eggs (your choice) scrambled, tomatoes, sweet potatoes, carrots and cheddar cheese.

First time there: street parking was easy due to it being winter break. The restaurant was busy, but enjoyable. This was a different type of setup than I was expecting. You order your food at the register and then they bring it out to you when it's done. Not bad, just new for me. The restaurant is quaint, but cozy. My only not so pleasant experience with this restaurant was the order taker/cashier. She could've been having a rough morning or something, she didn't make eye contact, no smile, and was just giving the impression that she was trying to "just get through the day". Other than that, food was delicious, cooked to order properly, fresh and flavorful. The restaurant seemed clean and the other staffers were attentive and friendly. I'd definitely return in the future.

Dang good hash! Not as frilly as the website might lead you to believe but delicious none the less. My SO went for the sweet potato and sausage seasonal hash that had a unique "gravy" blended with tzatziki sauce that I've never tasted before. I built my own hash but they have plenty of pre set options to choose from. Coffee is from Dark Matter and they have fresh squeezed juice and freshly brewed tea. Great spot for brunch and it's BYOB!

As a fat overfed American male, I need a certain quality of calorie to sustain me during my breakfast times. Sure, I could just go eat some food somewhere, but if I want to have a MEAL, I head for Hash. Damn delicious food, exciting atmosphere, and the staff has the right amount of sass! Two thumbs up! I would give it three thumbs up, but that would be weird…
