This is a great pan-Asian restaurant. (I almost typed Chinese restaurant. It is definitely a pan-Asian menu, but the menu leans heavily Chinese.) The atmosphere is elegant and charming - it feels like the Hong Kong you see in the 1930s movies, complete with bird cage in the corner. This is the kind of place you want to kick back and have a mixed drink.(Singapore Sling?)
The drink list is extensive and interesting, as is the food menu. There is a great assortment of noodle dishes and entrees. The food is just as exquisite as the decor of the restaurant. Every dish we ate was absolutely delicious, and nothing on the plate was run of the mill. The decor of the restaurant implies that this is not your average Chinese takeout, but the quality of the food really brings the point home.
The waiters and waitresses were just a bit on the snobby / condescending side. We figured that was just part of the ambiance.
Went for Christmas dinner with my boyfriend and everything was just perfect! The decor is warm and inviting, and our server was very friendly and helpful in making selections off the menu. They have really cool ginger and pear martinis, but they also do BYOB for bottles of wine. The food is spectacular too! I recommend the lettuce wraps and the red snapper filet entree. The bf and I decided that this was going to be our go-to for special date nights!
One of my favorite restaurants in Chicago. Really cool decor, bright, friendly atmosphere, terrific service, creative drinks and delicious food. I've loved everything I've tried there!!
Very welcoming restaurant and staff. Food was fantastic and fresh. Wholeheartedly recommend Ping Pong.
Always delicious, but definitely make a reservation as you may end up waiting quite a while otherwise. I can honestly say that in all the time I've been coming to Ping Pong I've never had anything that wasn't excellent. In addition to the food, the cocktails are also worth the visit. I don't ever seen to make it to dessert, but I'm sure it's also good.
