Blackwood BBQ

The food here is phenomenal. Winston and Anthony (shout out to you guys) are top notch purveyors of the delicious fare offered at Blackwood BBQ. They have delightful a pulled pork (I could use a little extra smoke) that pairs really well with the smoked beans. Big, rich pulls with cole slaw and one of the six or so sauces that they have, with a slice of the honey pie afterward, makes for a perfect ending for a long day.

For lunch, go with the brisket burnt ends. These bits of brisket are perfectly smoked and very well sauced and sweetly caramelized. You can also have a sauce on these but I suggest getting it on the side to use as a dipping sauce. The flavor of these little chunks of meat-heaven absolutely don't need any extra sauce. They are fantastically perfect, just as they are.
Hearty portions all around make this a must-eat, while in this beautiful city.

They offer other meats and you can have any of them as a salad, platter, or sandwich meal. This is definitely one of the best finds we've made on our travels.

As a side note:
Even though this is in the well-traveled and not-shady part of the city, they do not accept cash, for the safety of the fine folks working there.

this place can be healthy with the right food choices, however my favorite would be their tasty (low, medium or fatty) brisket with their grilled cheese and home made pickles!

This place is a hidden gem that is never crowded (read, you never have to wait!). The food is amazingly delicious and very reasonably priced. Highly recommend.

I attempted to order online and was experiencing difficulties. I called the Restaurant directly and experienced the most Superior Customer Service in the City. The Manager (Ash ) was so pleasant, helpful and patient. My Team Member and I are having our Christmas Party in January . And we certainly made the right choice by choosing Blackwood BBQ On Lake St.

Got the Brisket Burnt Ends platter and it really does come with a lot of meat. I thought it was pretty good, including the pickles & coleslaw. I also got a side of the 3 Cheese Mac, but it lacked a bit of flavor. Staff was nice and made my order quickly. Will come back.
